Sofia Sullivan is a comedian, writer and actor whose work blends observational storytelling with absurdity. She has written and produced comedy that explores the strange and lovable ways we try to connect with one another.
She co-created and co-wrote Dog People, alongside Michael Zimmer which recently completed a seven show sold out run in Portland.
Right after college, Sofia worked for a wedding planner. Years later, after planning a wedding of her own that ultimately didn't happen, she somehow found herself back in the wedding industry as a coordinator. The contrast stayed with her. As she helped couples navigate one of the biggest days of their lives, the experience became the inspiration for her current solo show which blends storytelling and absurdity to explore love, marriage and the gorgeously strange rituals we build around both. Sofia sees weddings as a microscope for life's big stuff: love, grief, family, identity, expectation, and the stories we tell ourselves about happily ever after. Could it be true that love is real and we make weird? If so, sign me up.
