About the Show

Meilani’s life in Hawai’i falls apart when the skyrocketing cost of living, high rent, and low wages force her and her mother to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona. The Maui-born surfer and Instagram influencer experiences a severe case of “reverse seasickness” in this desert city. As she struggles at her new high school, she finds unexpected lifelines from an unlikely trio: a quirky kid in the library, an overprotective guidance counselor, and Jered—a boy who might just give her a reason to anchor down.
